Nick and Edgar meet at the coroners office over the bodies of Maria Swenson (alchemist) and Horace Campbell (archaeologist) two lovers both studying at USM. Investigating the body revealed evidence of vampire attack. Nick cashed a debt (about the illcit trade in penises) to get access to the effects. Two broken phones were recovered and a flier for a plasma donation center.
Edgar called Rocco and asked for the phones to be reconstructed. Rocco wanted Edgar to help him out in exchange. Edgar visited Nick at Nick's Fine Automotive, a shady car dealership. Nick asked Edgar to distract some watching police while he smuggled out some evidence. Edgar did so, but was caught by the Copper in the process. He was able to talk his way out of it.
Nick visited Maria's lab and found it had been cleared out, though there was evidence of alchemy and some kind of crystal magic. An old woman from a neighboring wicca shop checked in on him but was turned away.
Nick and Edgar then went to the Thirsty Mule, a college dive bar. There they Jackson Miller a partial washout at USM who told them Maria and Horace were an item. Nick spotted Suki Susuki, a fixer and gun for hire of the power faction. Suki owed Nick for saving her from a werewolf attack. Suki explained that Spike has been working out of a blood donation clinic.
They went to the Thirsty Cat and picked up Lola and Natasha (a stripper Nick convinced to come along) who they wanted to use to scout the donation center. On the way they got a call from Rocco who had the phones fixed. They stopped by the Olive Tree, a reasturant used by the mob, The phones showed some text between the students confirming they were lovers as well as several calls to the HoA.
Diverting they visited the HoA and discovered it to be a fief of the winter fae. Heading back to town they found themselves followed by the Redcap who somehow they both managed to fucking know. Redcap confirmed that Maria owed the fae for something they had given her and then the convinced Redcap to come with them.
The girls went into the donor center but the sun bomb went off and killed them both. Several burning vampires ran out and were cut down by the team. Not without burning Nick's coat. Inside they discovered the bomb case but were attacked by needle monster as they leylines unpicked.
Got information from the rifle king who told them about frag.
visited frag and learned that Maria had delievered the bomb to them so they could place it at the clinic. they recruited a couple of thugs and went to see the Forecaster who told them about the ice rink. They went down there and made a call to the HoA to say they were going after people who had stolen from them. Queen Mab materialized and offered the aid of a cloud of small faries. Gathered Suki for the assault.
fought it out with spike and his goons at the ice rink. The Toothfairy the vampires had kidnapped was killed when they detonated the magic dynamite. Ghost hokey players appeared and swarmed the ring. Edgar killed Spike with an arrow. Nick was sucked into the swarm of ghosts but was able to use the unpicking leyline to summon the Falmoth Privateer ghosts to fight them off. They escaped into the night.
